WordPress Web Developer – Marketing Agency

II. The Role

We are hiring a web developer who will build and maintain websites and web applications that support our clients’ marketing goals. Most of the websites will be WordPress + Woo but we are not limited to those applications. The right person will be able to provide guidance to both agency leadership and clients for identifying the best solution for their project.

III. Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain web applications and functionalities using a variety of programming languages and frameworks (e.g., HTML, SCSS, JavaScript, React).
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
  • Build WordPress websites using custom themes & Gutenberg blocks without relying on bloated page builders
  • Conduct code reviews and uphold code standards.
  • Be a leader. You should have standards for yourself and expect them of other developers. 
  • Be helpful in your interactions with designers, account managers, and clients with the objective of transforming design and vision into interactive experiences.
  • Managing hosting environments, commonly AWS. 
  • Consume development trends and technologies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve website issues.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of constantly improving standards.
  • Occasionally client-facing
  • Develop accurate project scope for new sales and projects
  • Give a crap about your work.

IV. Requirements

  • Hard Skills
    • 5+ years of experience in web development and project management.
    • 3+ Years of WordPress / WooCommerce
    • 3+ Years of experience working with REST APIs
    • 3+ Years working with Google web tools (GA4, Tag Manager, Search Console, etc)
    • Strong understanding of front-end and back-end development principles.
    • Proficiency in HTML, CSS (.scss or .sass), and JavaScript (React or similar).
    • Expertise in one or more modern web development frameworks (e.g., React, etc).
    • Experience with Linux server-side technologies and databases (ideally AWS).
    • Very comfortable with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator)
    • Know a thing or two about SEO

    • Enjoy collaborating with developers and project managers.
    • You must be good at identifying and solving problems.
    • Strong communication and collaboration.

Compensation:

$60,000 – $75,000 | Commensurate with experience
